Bangladeshi Taka (BDT / ৳). ATMs in Dhaka and major cities accept Visa/Mastercard. Cash is essential outside cities. Currency exchange available at the airport, banks and authorized changers.
Available at airport on arrival. Grameenphone (GP) and Robi offer best coverage. 4G in cities, 3G in towns. Bring passport for registration. Cost: ৳200–500 for tourist SIM with data.
Bangladesh is visited by international tourists regularly. Main considerations: Dhaka traffic (allow extra time), food/water hygiene (use bottled water), personal belongings in crowds. Check your government's travel advisory before departure.
No mandatory vaccinations (check current requirements). Hepatitis A/B and typhoid recommended. Bring diarrhea medication. Medical facilities good in Dhaka (Square Hospital, Labaid), limited in rural areas.
