China is one of the most extraordinary destinations available to Bangladeshi travellers — a country where ancient dynasties and ultra-modern cities exist side by side, where the Great Wall stretches across mountain ridges, and where the Guangzhou wholesale markets serve as the backbone of half the world's garment industry. For Bangladeshi passport holders, a tourist (L) visa applied for in advance at the China Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) in Dhaka is the only way in — no eVisa, no Visa on Arrival.
The single most important detail most guides get wrong: the photo size.
China CVASC Dhaka requires a photograph that is 48mm wide × 33mm tall — not the standard Bangladesh passport photo (35×45mm). Wrong photo size is cited as one of the most common CVASC rejection causes. When getting your photo taken, tell the studio explicitly: "China visa photo, 48 millimetres wide by 33 millimetres tall, pure white background, matt paper, lab-printed." Bring 4 copies. This one detail alone prevents the most common first-time application failure.
What the CVASC requires — and what competitors don't tell you:
The CVASC is not the same as the Chinese Embassy. It is the China Visa Application Service Centre at Level 4, 66 Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka — where all ordinary tourist and business visa applications from Bangladeshi nationals are processed. You must attend in person for biometric fingerprint collection at the time of submission. No postal submission, no proxy submission.
Before attending CVASC, complete the COVA online form at cova.mfa.gov.cn, print it, and sign it. Arrive with your printed, signed form, correct-size photos, sealed bank statement, and all supporting documents. Processing takes 4–5 working days from the date of submission. Express (2–3 days) and Rush (1 day) services are available at additional cost.
Travel history matters for your fee and your entry category. First-time applicants typically receive a single-entry visa. Applicants with previous China stamps or strong travel history (USA, UK, Schengen, Japan) may receive multiple-entry. A fresh passport with no travel history triggers a mandatory interview at the Chinese Embassy — this is standard procedure, not a rejection.
Bank balance benchmark: ৳3,00,000 (3 lakh) consistently held over 6 months. Consistency is the key word — a sudden large deposit immediately before application is a documented rejection trigger.
Tripzic prepares your complete document file, reviews your COVA form for errors, advises on your fee tier based on travel history, and accompanies you through the CVASC appointment. If an interview is required, our premium package includes full preparation for the embassy interview session.
Processing timeline coming soon. Typical processing: 5–10 business days.
Embassy fee is separate and paid directly or included depending on package.
